Carter Roofing & Slating Pty Ltd is committed to conducting our business in an environmentally responsible manner and make sure that our supply chain is as environmentally friendly as possible. Whenever possible we will recycle and reduce waste rather than send it to landfill.

We will always endeavour using as environmentally friendly products as possible.

• Slate is a natural product which aesthetic qualities are combined with the material’s natural durability and resistance to weather and temperature, making slate superbly adaptable and ideal for all environments. The quarries (Welsh slate and Glendyne) we purchase the slate from are committed to minimise the environmental impact and to promote sustainable development within their operations.
• Lead is 100% recyclable time after time. Lead is a natural metal and offer a long service life as it will not only fulfil the need of the building industry when selecting materials and products, but it can also help the industry to accomplish the growing need to reduce waste materials at the demolition phase, particularly as lead sheet can be so easily recycled avoiding the need for landfill or incineration associated with alternative products. Recycling involves no solvents, requires low energy requirements, supports environmental strategies and Kyoto protocol.
• Clay Plain tiles are made from clay, sand, pigments and additives with a long lifespan. They are can be recycled by crushing and used as aggregate and/or as inert bulk fill. Our suppliers are committed to minimise the harmful effects on the environment and operate various quality management systems to enforce these.
